KitchenAid Swings at PGA Golf Event

When you think pro golf, your mind might turn to the troubles of Tiger Woods or the beauty of the seventh hole at Pebble Beach as it opens up to the Pacific Ocean. Or it could be that it makes you think of your own dratted inability to get even within an elephant’s ear of par.

Most likely, though, it probably doesn’t inspire your brain to immediately start charging in the direction of celebrity chefs. KitchenAid aims to change that. That’s why the Senior PGA Championship took place this past weekend at Valhalla Golf Club near Louisville, Kentucky, with KitchenAid as its main sponsor.

As a way to set itself off from other sponsors, the brand set up the KitchenAid Fairway Club, “a 40×60-foot interactive environment for fans where celebrity chefs will entertain while showing off” its appliances, Louisville.com reports. Celebrity foodies as Duff Goldman of the Food Network’s Ace of Cakes and Mike Symon of the channel’s Iron Chef were there.

Tony Awards: Neil Patrick Harris and Hugh Jackman’s host-off

Neil Patrick Harris hosted the Tony Awards Sunday night, singing, dancing and charming his way through his second successful hosting gig. Still, the “How I Met Your Mother” star had to defend his abilities to Tony winner and three-time host, Hugh Jackman.

The two Broadway vets attempted to prove they were the superior host by performing some pretty slick dance moves while singing a medley of Broadway tunes from shows including “Gypsy,” Annie Get Your Gun” and “Singin’ in the Rain.”

Army Wives Season Finale Review: Major Changes

For a season finale, with such incredibly far-reaching changes, this didn’t feel like much of a finale at all. A series finale, maybe, but we already know that the show is renewed for next year.

What are the odds that every one of the characters won’t come back? I’d say nil. So where does this leave them? I can’t think of another show that has thrown such a huge change into the mix at the end of a season.

Honestly, it’s really difficult to talk about this episode, but I’ll give it a shot.

Let’s start with Michael and the drunk driving incident: I was wondering when that video would come into play. Two episodes ago, they showed it in the previews, and then there was no mention of it last week.

It did look bad for Michael. The police could have run the entire video to try to take the heat off of General Holden. Why didn’t they do that? In spite of the fact their own department leaked the cuts of the video to the press, they didn’t do much to help him out.

The Hell with it, I just need to get this out there. I can talk about the episode like it was any other, but it wasn’t. They are closing Ft. Marshall. Although they’ve hinted at this many different years, I’m shocked that it’s happening. We’ll no longer see the beautiful sets, such as the Holden’s porch and garden. It’s weird the things I think about, but I’m already missing the them!

The decision was made for the Morans, they’re moving to California. Perhaps there will be some sort of a migration in the same direction.

Elsewhere, thankfully, Roxy and Trevor have already gotten back on track, so that he can be the father his kids really need right now. It’s like they took every loose end and tried to tie it up. It was both exciting and worrisome.

Meanwhile, David was telling his friends tall tales about his birth mom, but still unwilling to accept Joan as his new mother. When Joan told him they were never “giving him back,” he finally understood what a family was. When David called Joan “mom,” I got a little teary-eyed.

The whole episode was about family, and that no matter where you go, the family you make along the way will always be a part of your life. I can only hope that this means the majority of our characters will be sticking around for season six. Hollywood has a way of making that happen, but I’d venture to guess we will lose one or two wives along the way.

Luke Bryan Shakes Up the 2011 CMT Music Awards With ‘Country Girl’

“What’s up, CMT Music Awards 2011?” Luke Bryan said as he charged onto the Nashville stage and into his hugely popular singe, ‘Country Girl (Shake it for Me).’ “Y’all can’t shake it in your seats now, come on!”

Bryan, sporting a backwards baseball cap and tight black T-shirt, invited some sexy leather-sporting ladies to shake it with him to a choreographed dance behind him against flashing bright lights. When the camera panned to the celeb-filled audience, we were able to see that Lady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley was out of his seat and shaking it for Bryan.

The ‘Rain Is a Good Thing’ hitmaker’s performance got country fans everywhere pumped for the rest of the show, and when he finally left the stage, the lights were on and everyone in the room was out of their seat.

Les Paul: inducted in 1988 | The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

The name Les Paul is synonymous with the electric guitar. As a player, inventor and recording artist, Paul has been an innovator his entire life. Born Lester William Polsfuss in 1915 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Paul built his first crystal radio at age nine – which was about the time he first picked up a guitar. By age 13 he was performing semi-professionally as a country-music guitarist and working diligently on sound-related inventions. In 1941, Paul built his first solid-body electric guitar, and he continued to make refinements to his prototype throughout the decade. It’s safe to say that rock and …
